I have the Kronos PRO turntable with the black beauty carbon fiber 12" tonearm (I believe the black beauty tonearm is exclusive to Kronos for now). For the Cartridge I have two of them that I am trying this week. They are both Zyx Cartridge. One is the Zyx OMEGA Premium and the other is the Zyx UNIVERSE Premium. While one is more then double the price of the other, they are both very good and I like them both so far!

I have elected to get the Nagra VPS phono stage as it has very similar tonal balance to my Nagra HD DAC. I can leverage my existing Nagra MPS power supply for the VPS phono stage. I also plan to try an Air Tight Step-up transformer next week to feed the Nagra VPS via the MM input instead of the MC input to see if I like it. For now this is it!

I guess I also have Acoustic Sound international sales customer service on my speed dial now

While I am new to the analog source, I am very happy with the combination of component just mentioned as they seem to provide a very fluid and organic sound, like I like.

Hope this is useful! More pictures to come!
Thanks for a detailed feedback. It seems you have entered into analog with a very strong start! No wonder why you are keen on prefering analog over digital. I also have Zyx Universe Premium, it is an excellent cartridge while very expensive, enjoy!

Out of curiosity, have you ever tried the ZYX OMEGA Premium? I am not yet familiar with the impact of a cartridge break-in period but I know the UNIVERSE Premium I have is new (say ~10 hours of play time, while the OMEGA PREMIUM has about 150 hours on it). While the ZYX Universe Premium seem more fluid, more open out of the box, it does have a bit less bass and mostly less mid bass giving less "flesh in the medium" compared to the OMEGA Premium. The highs are also a bit less relaxed compared to the Omega. I suspect this to be due to break-in period but given I am not that familiar with cartridge, I wondered if you had any thoughts...

Best, Jacques

Vinyl music has brought back so much fondness of teenage memories as I unpacked two boxes of 80s music last year. My record collection is continuing to grow in genres and in quantity.

Today I received my VPI Prime and looking forward to unboxing it and playing some cool music.

Digital music is to still going to be a part of my Library - there is just too much music to replace 1:1.

Vinyl is definitely worth it.
I'm now listening to John Klemmer's Touch using a Scout with a Grace 9. It is sublime.

That's a great table. You might also eventually dive into the world of older vinyl, which is a whole other thing. The KL is very good, and an essential part of my tool kit for cleaning. I've owned many cleaning machines and still use several. For new vinyl, the KL is probably all you'll ever need.

Sorry to bother...

Any comparison between the New clearaudio Double matrix sonic and the KLaudio?
(why you prefer KLA over the new sonic pro)

I am looking to get just 1 RCM myself..

Thanks!
