Leif is the chief engineer at Marten. He is a HiFi-entusiast and curious. He often tries new things that he comes across in their reference system. I often been asked to come and listen. It's great fun. Everything is audible in that system and in that specific room. So it's great to try tweaks there. There are things from the industry that has got application in our hobby. Actually this product is not that new in our hobby but I just seen it once. That was under Michael Fremers turntable. Now Marten use one under their turntable and it's very good. It's a passive vibration platform that is something else of whats in our hobby. This has another grade of professional level. It's is used under telescopes, microscopes and other products to perfectly eliminate vibration that can harm your task. The brand is MinusK. Fremer loves it, some more enthusiasts that I read about and now Leif is thrilled. I just have to try one under my turntable. Thats the cliffhanger. check this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evAx...ature=emb_logo

If I will change amps in the future it could be Dan d'Agostino. The new McIntosh MC901 is a cool amp as well. I like the idea with tubs and solid state and bi-amping in one unit.

The 1.25KW runs hotter than the 1.2 by a considerable amount. I suspect because it runs class A for 15-20 watts. My XVX rarely requires over 15-20 watts. You are full class A 100%. |

So the audiophiles finally caught on to the active vibration tables that have been used in laboratories for decades under such things as electron scanning microscopes and other high precision instruments?
What rack can compare with that kind of vibration control? |

Carl, I just learned that with the new self biasing transistor significant class A with Mac is not going to happen. Ultimately it's how the gear sounds and I am very happy with my 1.25KW's. With the efficiency of the XVX it will be hard to justify spending the money. Then there is the enormous increase in the amount of gear. I am truly at an endpoint with my system other than waiting for the new digital pre.

IMO none but for most of us the price puts them in the post-lottery category [emoji1787]. Herzan TS-150s would fall under the dream system category!

If we are talking about High-End HiFi , the price on almost every part of the system is crazy, some would argue.
It's like this, ore at least can be, in any hobby, car, boat, house, art, furnitures, hourses and so on. To reach top performance out of High-End gear the last parts gets extreme and costly. There are no shortcuts to go all the way, for those who thinks that is fun. You can always push the limit a bit further. That's the fun part. I use some HRS products. They are very good and they are not cheap. One singel HRS-platform is not far from MinusK due to price. As a product, there is a big difference in performance of isolation. How it will work under my turntable is still to be discovered. Everything tells me it would perform better, but I could never know for sure until I listened to it.
