Question AHT Non-Signature phone stage

Thinking about making this purchase and in fact negotiating a purchase price. When it was a current piece it was very well received and reviewed and is what turned in the Walker phone stage after the design and manufacturing rights were purchased from Danny Fanny. Anyway some feedback would be great from anyone in the know or just someone with an opinion

I think that phono was designed by Danny back in the early 90s when AHT was doing well.....I think they closed shop around 2008. List price was $2500. Not sure how old the unit your looking at but there are a boat load of current phono stages available today at all price points and if you were to have an issue it may be difficult getting it repaired. Not sure if its the same one or not but I saw one on audiogon listed for about three months, not sure if it ever sold or the seller just stop posting it for sale.....anyway no help in how it sounds as I never heard it.

You right about the designer and the fact that AHT is no longer around. As for the original selling price I don't know. According to this review ( SoundStage! Equipment Review - AHT Non-Signature Phono Stage (05/1998) ) the AHT Non-Signature with optional face plate with L.E.D. sold for $5750. So whats that today like $8K? Problem is not a great deal of information available

Not sure of the pricing either, most likely the $2500 was when it was first released and as time went on the price went up.....
