Default Thinking of Buying Audeze LCD3.

Anyone using them? To me they sound the dogs bollocks at a dem but would long term users agree?

I think it is a really good can and is also relatively easy to get to sound good with modest amplification. But my current fave is still the HE6 if you can get enough power to it. The HE6 is a lot less dark than the LCD3. I use the Schiit Lyr with the HE6.

I do use the LCD3 with my portable amp because it's easier to drive when I am away from home.

For me, if I was going down the road of buying headphones there would be only one choice; Stax SR-009 But not cheap. While i'm building my home audio system it's on the bottom of my list of priorities

Audeze LCD 3 with Woo headphone amp. They sound great and easily are one of the few products you can grow old with.

Do they sound as good as my Elipsa's and JL sub?... No, not even close.

They do make my Sen. 650 cans sound like thin kids headphones, in comparison.
I had to return my first set but my updated pair is an awakening, in regard to headphones.

Even the LCD-2 is quite satisfying- I've had a pair for a few years now and with a good amp they are very enjoyable!

I actually like the LCD2 more. There will be a closed back version coming next month and I like it a lot.

They are very comfy. Closed back suits my living situation better so I will have to wait for them to hit the streets.

Did you guys see the new LCD-X & LCD-XC? I got to hear them a month ago and thought I would take a closer look at the LCD-X on my system.
