Hi Dan.......One thought would be to swap out the 079 ends for either the 046 or 004 ends, both will lead to a different sonic direction....the 004 will be big and dynamic through out the freq. range, highs are sweet and extended with rock solid bottom. The 046 leans just a smidge to the warm with a tiny bit less emphasis up top and a slightly more rounded bottom, pairs up nicely with SS......the 079 that is currently on the cord has more of a laid back and warm tone but pretty solid bottom, everything the 079 does well is towards the lower freq range and doesn't have the sparkle up top like the other two I mentioned......just a thought if your into swapping the ends.

That's a good suggestion, Jeff, though not exactly cheap. I wonder how the Lessloss are terminated and how easy it will be to make the swap.

It's mind boggling to me that those connectors can make such a big difference in sound. Then again, it's mind boggling that power cords make any difference at all.

How's the Magtech and pre match ups coming? I'm very strongly leaning toward the Sanders after hearing it drive my Snell AIII's with an ARC Ref 5 pre. Muy bueno. Thanks.

I wish Sanders made a 3 or 5 channel amp. I have Martin Logans for the front and center speakers. Actually, a 3-channel would be fine, as my receiver could be used for the rear channels. It's doing a respectable job driving all five speakers, but I'm sure a better front amp would improve the sound.

Default Fuses?

Have any of you Magtech users experimented with aftermarket fuses in the amp? Just curious.

Drubin,

I put Hifi Supremes in mine and also wa quantum chips on the transformer and small fuse chips on the fuses throughout... and if I bought another I'd do it all over again. Less grain, more fluid and focussed.

Found it also responds real well to good power cables... hope its Ok just chucking in an additional 2 cents there

I am about to try a Magtech in my main system. It's great to hear others' experiences here. I wonder if there are any other words of wisdom since the last post, more than 3 years ago, about getting the best out of this amp?
