Default 20 amp isolated circuits

Just had an electrician install 4 20 amp dedicated lines in my media room. With synergistic teslaplex se 20 amp outlets on two of the four and oyide on other 2. Eager see what difference this makes!

I will report back later this evening once I hook everything back up. I'm going to run the CJ Pr350 straight into the wall to its very own dedicated 20 amp line versus how I have had it -- into the Audience AR12 PLC (which is 15 amp not 20amp). The Audience PLC will go into its own circuit. The electrician couldn't install the Synergistic Tesla's since they don't meet code (don't have special inserts that keep kids from jamming stuff in them), so I will wait until inspection clears then put them in. That way I will hear what the 20amp circuit does, then adding the Synergistic outlets.

I really like the Teslaplex receptacles, hope they work as well for you.

So just listening to initial impressions, right out of the shoot....CJ Pr350 into dedicated 20amp circuit (no longer into Audience AR12 15 amp PLC), without Teslaplex SE outlets just into cheezy electrician plugs...immediate impression is BIGGER/LARGER everything (transients, dynamics, energy, etc); better ability to "walk around" the instrument or singer; vocals more in the forefront, harder to ignore or miss, whereas before I felt singers were a bit recessed versus listening to VAC 300.1a amp. One thing I am missing but need to A-B to confirm is a sense of texture to match the larger scale if that makes sense. Through the Audience 15 amp PLC into Oyaide non-dedicated outlet, the sound was smaller scale, less in your face big, but had texture to match every extension top to bottom. I'm thinking I need a RSA Duke or similar PLC for the amp???? I like the BIG sound, but want the scaled harmonics/texture if that makes sense. The tails of frequency range had more delineation previously, the middle of the frequencies now have more wallop. Next week I get the CJ GAT so eager to hear what that brings to the party.

Ahhhh, just plugged CJ Pr350 into Audience AR 12 which now has its own dedicated line. Saaaweeet. All the BIGGER dynamics and presence I noted earlier, but now the sweet textural ambience and harmonics I felt I was missing. Amazing what a PLC brings to the equation. For me it is like going from solid state to good tubes. Best good news is that annoying LOUD POP i used to get when muting or turning off amp or preamp is now GONE. That alone was worth the expense. It was a loud 100 db pop whenever I would mute or turn off/on. That is now gone. I don't understand why but am very happy.

dpod4 - Dedicated 20A circuits do make a difference. I added 2 lines last year with excellent results. Glad you are happy with the investment.

I just spoke with John McDonald of Audience to try to understand why to my ears a 20 amp power cord on a CJ 350 would sound better going into a 15 amp Audience AR12 conditioner versus straight into the 20 amp outlet. First of all, this is about the third or fourth time I've reached out to Audience for support (e.g., sent powerchords in for "e" upgrade...made a big difference), and every time I get instant comprehensive support via e-mail and on the phone. And they have always gone above and beyond with any requests or upgrades I've asked for (speed of service, shipping back, etc.) -- and I'm just a random, average customer pinging them from time to time. John personally handles most of my inquiries I send in. So it is pretty easy to feel loyal to a brand that operates that way. You can tell they love and believe in what they do.

But, hey, for me, it's about what sounds the best (organic, natural, dynamic), and that's where the Audience product beat everything I have tried so far for power cords and conditioners.

So here's what also cool about talking with John today. He could have tried to convince me to upgrade to a 20 amp PLC, but he didn't . Instead he explained the engineering inherent in the AR12 and why as a 15amp PLC the AR12 wasn't limiting current/power to my CJ 350 amp....why it is a fine solution. Now I need to take the money I would have spent on a dedicated PLC for the CJ amp and try their Au24 power cord for the amp! Will post more impressions when I put the Synergistic Research Teslaplex SE 20 amp outlets replacing ones my electrician put in yesterday. I'm curious what types of 20 amp outlets AA members are using? I'm eager to hear any difference between Oyaide and SR...or maybe it's splitting hairs at that point.
