Default Anyone Compared the SA11S3 to Esoteric players?

I am thinking about replacing my Oppo 105 with a dedicated CD / SACD player. The Marantz SA-11S3 is on my short list as well as the Esoteric K-05 as a "stretch purchase". Not in a rush but within a few months, I want to make a selection. I am also looking at going CD player with a Bryston BDA-3 or the Aurelic DAC. Lots of option I guess. To be sure, I have not gone down the CD ripping route yet. I still enjoy savoring each and every CD I load into my Oppo 105.

Also considered the SA11-S3 last year when shopping for a new CDP. Believe it was Audio Classics that had some 'B' stock with full warranty at a good discount. But, as I listen primarily to analog, decided that it was simply more machine then I need to have sitting on the shelf with only occasional use, so went with the SA-8004. Am happy with the choice, though am sure the SA11-S3 would be better.

Hello all. My Krell SACD Standard mk3 died one time to many and I'm looking for a replacement and I'm thinking about the SA-11S3 as an option. I know it's about half the price but do you have any input?

I just purchased a used SA11S3 to replace a SA-8001. To say the difference was audible is an understatement. The rest of this system is McIntosh MC601/C50 and a pair of JBL 4365's.

It really made quite a difference in all meaningful audio aspects--to ME.

Congrats Tom! SA-11S3 players combined with Mac gear are something special. The 8000 Series offers great bang for the buck, but the Reference Series is a whole new ball game. Hope you enjoy rediscovering your music collection.

Well, I still have the other Marantz reference system with the SA-7S1 sacd player so I was still in the game before buying this newer Marantz that is hooked up with my Mac gear in the "Man Cave" system. At some point, I would like to compare the SA11S3 against the SA7S1 in the same system.....
