The 125's felt more forward. The 11A smoother, just feels right.

Hopefully you are still checking the board. Sounds like you may be out of the CJ business for the time being. Wondering if you could elaborate on the MV60SE C1 cap upgrade. Curious to know about the difference you heard after the upgrade and why you decided to sell your amp. You used an acronym "RPaT" that I'm not familiar with? Did you think the upgrade was worth the money verses spending $3,500 on a used LP70S which already has the upgrade? Best Bugs Last edited by Bugs762; 05-20-2014 at 12:02 PM. |

I guess its all about system synergy. The LP125 is as far from forward as I have ever had in my system. Soundstage start at the speakers pane and develops way past my front room wall.

I am also sensitive with the PRAT subjective feeling (peace, rythm, and timing) highlighted by Littlebunny. the PRAT was often used to explain the musical difference of turntable by in the professionnal area. In the other hand you know the existing controversies between CJ lovers regarding the "new" and the "old" CJ sound Here is my opinion(pv8 mv60se) Conrad-Johnson PV8 Preamplifiers reviews - Audioreview.com Raymond

Hi all,
How would you characterize the sound across the frequency band of the stock MV60SE and LP66 compared to the in production Classic 60 with EL34 (non-SE). Would also welcome feedback on soundstage. I've heard the Classic in store and found it did a lot of things right such as wide instrument separation left-to-right and forward and back and produced a pleasant midrange but lacked a little oomph in the lower frequencies. The pre was a ET3 non-SE. I don't have any perspective on the MV60SE and LP66 with respect to this. I realize this is an old thread but my question seemed appropriate here vs starting a new discussion.

My guess is the LP66 would be the best sounding amp of the three; it is latest design and is an extension of the original LP70S, which I use.
