Ultra Short Throw Projectors
My place in Naples is the perfect candidate for a ultra short throw projector as I would like to have a 110 or 120 screen in my media room but do not have the room size for a ceiling mounted projector. Just curious if anyone has experience with these. LG now has one which is 1/3 the cost of the Sony.
This is laser LG HU85LA 4k which I am interested in . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3GVPPCBeqk |

I don’t know anything about it, but I sure like what I just saw. I’ll be paying attention to this thread.

You should be able to get much more information about this projector or any other projector at the AVS forum. Also some websites (like Projector Central) have throw calculators that can help you narrow down the projectors that meet your criteria/needs. |

Take a look at the NEW Optoma UST projector model UHZ65UST. It has good reviews and I will have a look in a local shop soon. Costs about 3500€.

If the room is going to be bright, like a living room, consider pairing it with a short throw ALR screen like Screen Innovations ST material. It's not cheap, however it allows you to view it with lights, windows etc that a standard white material would just wash out.

Not yet. The shop did not have it on display and expect it next week. In the mean time I am now considering a 75 inch OLED tv. That way I always have a good large image and no need for a separate screen.
