Help with 2Ch living/listening Room

I currently have a 2 channel system in a living room. The room measures 16x14x8. I have Wilson Sashas with an ARC REF5 pre and Lamm 1.2 amps. the room is open behind to the left rear of the room behind the listener and is closed directly behind the listener. I have a 35-37Hz boom in the room. I've placed 16"x4' traps with one behind the listener (reflection facing into the room) and one In the right corner. The room needs more taming of the bass. I am thinking about putting 16x4' supertraps where I have the current traps in the rear since they work down to 35Hz vs 50Hz. I'll then put the current 16"x4's in the front corners. Do you think this will be effective in reducing the bass? I have a PARC PEQ EQ system that get's rid of the boom, however I'm not sure I like the music EQ'd as I can hear a difference. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

How far out from the corners are you able to get your Sasha's??

Hey Jim;

I have them 2.5 feet out from the wall measuring from the rear of the bass unit. I had the bass traps in the front intially and moved them to the rear after reading the ASC article posted on the other thread. It seems to have helped some but still not where I want it. That's why I was thinking about 16x4 super traps in the rear and putting the current 16x4's back to the front corners.

I think your plan sounds good. I have 11" x 6' (really stacked 3's) behind my Sophia 2's and it really helped a lot. I also have 11" in both rear corners and 16" in the middle of the back wall. It sounds like you are fighting a decay issue (RT60) rather than a frequency response issue, so I do not think that EQ will help much.
