Cool. Rega will archieve 2 laser assemblies for each unit just in case. I have a few friends whose very expensive in the day CD transports are now paper weights.
Thanks Jeff. |

Very nice. Rega makes good value gear which means this one must sound like the bee's knees!

I did compare it to the Meridian 808, the Wadia 781 and the Naim 555 in my review...
They are all a little bit different, but the overall level of resolution in the ISIS is on par with the best. The other player that I'm really excited about is the new SimAudio Moon 750. It's 11k and has a full set of DAC inputs along with ability to play high res AND they will be adding an external power supply this summer. It's still breaking in, so too early to pass judgement! |

Thanks Jeff,
Very interesting. Rega made very musical and natural sounding CDPs in the past. I would be very curious to compare this high end toy with the MDA1000. Jérôme

Well, this time I have to say your dealer is right! The 750 is still breaking in, but I'm really impressed. What I like best about the 750 is the fact that an external power supply is on the way this summer, and like Naim, I know this will take it another step.
Also, I really like that it is a full function DAC and will play high res files. Much as I liked the sound of the Rega, I felt this was a flaw in the design. I can't imagine anyone going forward not wanting to have that capability. I would buy the 750 in a heartbeat. (Matter of fact, I probably will buy the review sample...) |
