MX150 Update Thread

Ok, Dave, Vote yes on the Poll. It could probably be built cheaper but we gotta give McIntosh Labs an incentive to build it.

Ok just updated. So far so good.

There's definately some refinement. The Mx150 just seems more snappy in general. You can just tell by traversing through the menus.

My ears could be fooling me but I think it sounds slightly better

So far I have noticed an increase in volume at the same output level used prior to the update and maybe a little more depth to the sound.

But what Mcintosh is telling about it? Apart from the 3d what are the improvements?

Since McIntosh has taken such a beating in several threads lately they may be a bit reluctant to identify additional MX-150 "issues" which may or not be common knowledge. At least by adding 3D capability to the unit they have provided the end user with something that they never intended on including in the unit in the first place.

From another point of view, perhaps the bashing they have taken should be a wake up call that we customers are no longer exercising blind faith in a manufacturer. We want and deserve to know how they are altering our $12k piece of equipment.

Does the update change the way that the items in the Setup Menu have already been made and will RP need to be run again?
