On the top and bottom above and below the draw it doesn't look finished or is there two different models. He ask 9.5 k I still think to much.

Paul.......The MCD1100 is McIntosh's current top of the line source component. It is a very good SACD/CD/DAC that you would definitely be pleased to own. It's price is $10,000.

The raised 3D glass area is trimmed in black aluminum, not the silver aluminum trim like the MDA/MCD1000 CD/DAC player. When I first saw it I was expecting the trim to be silver, but it didn't take long to warm up to the black trim around the raised glass.

Try negotiating with the dealer if you aren't pleased with his offer. One thing is certain though, he isn't going to give the MCD1100 away.

I am planning to purchase the MCD-1100 in September or October. Thankfully, they didn't raise the price with the 2013 price increase. From what I've heard, CD and USB performance are top notch. Does anyone have any personal experience with this unit that they can share (i.e. pros and cons)?

Thanks,
PSF

5% off for a demo model? You are correct! I would have laughed in his face and either about-faced or offered an actual fair price.

If you want it, make him earn your business.

The OP is in Australia, 9.5k may be much more than 5% off overseas.

I still see two model faces for theMCD1100

See pics can you order how do they come standard or can you order with the silver strip above and below the draw unit.

Paul.......The MCD1100 with the silver trim never made it to market. Those were promotional photos of a prototype. There is only one MCD1100 trim and it is black.

Plugged my new MCD1100 in this morning, initial impression......very disappointed. I think my Pioneer Elite Blu-ray played cd's better. I'll give it some time, and play around with it a bit, but unless I hear some dramatic improvements, it will be up for sale.
