c220 illumination control

does the c220 preamp support illumination contol. Can it turn on/of the mc275's LED LIGHTS?

Allan.......The C220 owner's manual makes no mention of illumination control. Since the preamplifier does not have meters it is possible McIntosh omitted meter light control from the control software. If you have illumination control, you should see it by pressing the Trim button on the remote multiple times until you see Meter On or Meter Off. If you do not see that setting it is unlikely the C220 supports illumination control.

does anyone have any idea how I can toggle on/off my mc275's LED lights but still keep the C220's remote power cable?

Allan.......Might be time to sell the C220 and buy a clean C2300. You will gain improved audio performance, moving magnet and moving coil phono stages, considerably higher quality construction and parts, and it provides the illumination control you want. The C2300 is quite a nice upgrade from the entry level C220 preamp.
