Ivan.......I have admired Kimber for a number of years but never purchased one. I like the Kimber Super Carry Ultra .45 ACP. Serious close range stopping power and relatively easy concealment. Looks good, too.

My father-in law has a couple Kimber 45s in that Ultra range.
They are beautiful guns and he loves them. I am used to a heavier 45 and am far less accurate with those light Kimbers. :-)

I had a Kimber eclipse. It stove piped on me . I took it to a smithy and he polished the feed ramp after that 0 problems !

I've got one and it's a terrific piece. Never had any reliability issues with it (use high quality mags), cleans easily, comfortable to conceal carry, and after practicing with it extensively I've found it to be very accurate. I'm certainly more accurate with it than with my Ruger .357 mag revolver.

Kimber makes an excellent 45; however, sample rate is very small. Compared to the Navy service 45 the Kimber shoots itself. Those sloppy 45's from the Navy I always thought I'd have better luck throwing the weapon at the target. I know my odds of success would have been a lot higher.

Kimber makes some great and reliable weapons. Mine had a feed ramp problem but a bit of polishing took care of that. My SA 1911A1 had the same problem as did my first Colt.

I'm not a big fan of anything less than a 5" 1911 if you actually plan on using it.
I've moved on from Kimber but in the past I owned at least 15 different models and never had a problem. Could have been lucky I guess, but tens of thousands of rounds through the guns usually takes out the luck factor.
