RM Williams boots - it's a uniform over here - superbly comfortable, last forever.

Right Andy, I have two pairs of R.M. Williams boots that I bought - one pair in Sydney & one in Perth, and, from all appearances, they will last a long, long time. R.M. Williams stores are a treasure trove of neat things, many of which we can readily get over here in the U.S. - although, even with shipping, I still order from Australia for less.

. .

I often walk with a cane, and I use the R.M. Williams, hand made, kangaroo leather covered walking stick . . I have two of the things, both fairly old, and the man in the store told me that Mr. Williams plaited the leather himself on the first one. . . . Likely story, but made it more of a treasure.

I know Mr. Williams died about 10 years ago , but he surely built a nice company with great products.

Thanks for sharing that Julian - I think we better make you an honourary Australian

They have a new comfort model with padded everything. I usually order mine in Kangaroo leather - very soft and breathes well.

I buy (only) Berluti shoes.

Occasionally JM Weston and John Lobb but don't see these in the same league.

The Left Shoe Company: a Finnish company that use some very sophisticated laser measurement equipment to size your shoes.

They have opened a US store in Los Angeles.

I'd certainly recommend the quality of their shoes and the service they offer.
