We age, our disposable income goes up, our systems get larger and more expensive, but our hearing starts to go and there's no escaping that we're becoming (or have become) dottering old farts. Not fair, is it?

Not fair at all!

But there's a point where increasing disposal income/system performance and decreasing hearing acuteness add up to produce maximum sonic/emotional enjoyment. One would hope, perhaps against the odds, that this point is still ahead of us and not behind us.
