Looks like a grand plan Dan!

Dan

I plan to pick up a new Oppo 105 soon as well but I was struck by your unfortunate vinyl experience with Music Direct.

I had a similar issue with a group of vinyl titles I bought from Acoustic Sounds. I had to pay shipping for defective discs not once but twice - and these were new 45 RPM premium titles! I switched to Music Direct and have not had any issues so far.

Go figure! It is vexing to deal with this occasionally at these prices for new vinyl. But I still prefer vinyl when the album title is available in this format.

I was already looking at the 95 when they announced the 105. Very excited about this as it'll solve my needs for a disc player for multi formats.

Looking forward to the reviews.

I have bought all my Oppos directly from them as well, Dan, and will do the same with the 105. I will wait a few months, though, just in case they need to iron-out some bugs, update the firmware (usually happens multiple times at first, and then progressively slows down), etc. I will then move my 95 to the living room, where I also have a 980H for multi-zone playback. I might wait even longer to purchase a region-free 105.

Estaban.......I think I will be doing the same thing, waiting a couple of months to see if any wrinkles appear before placing my order for the BDP-105. I'm sure Oppo has done their homework, but I'll let the dust settle first. I have been an early adopter on a number of components only to discover a fly in the ointment. I'm not so quick to jump anymore.

-- What about the 103, any flies in the ointment?
...It's been released for a while now.

* Methinks that the 103 was/still is the platform (testing ground) for the 105.
