The Good...none of the trailers revail too much...there are some moments you are wondering how everything is going to unfold. The visual brilliance of Ridley Scott is all over the movie, be it quite restrained...(less is more). The 3D adds to the experience.

The Bad...this is a movie with holes...I guess an extended directors cut would do it justice. Character development is none existent...you really don't care who lives or dies.

The Ugly...The script is an abomination...and Damon Lindelof failed Ridley Scott in an epic way. Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender save the day but, Charlize Theron never gets the chance to go full tilt as the corporate b*tch. There is none of the "angst" the trailers promised...not even the brilliant audio queue is used.

So disappointing...this movie fails on its promise in a way I would not expect possible with Ridley Scott also being the producer...I hope this is not a taste of what is to come with the sequel to Bladerunner.

In a nutshell...Noome Rapace and Michael Fassbender save the movie...barely. Mister Lindelof please find another line of work.
Thx for the review You just convinced me to wait until it hits PPV or Netflix

Ridley Scott has hinted at a Directors Cut Blu-ray release. Fingers crossed! I am off to IMAX on Thursday to see it.

Just seen it! Can't really make the comments i want without spoilers but I just don't understand why you'd make a film like that? I will just say;

I was never not going to see it but I am sick of movies with endings like that! Plenty more wrong with it when it could have been so much more. IMAX did make it quite an enjoyable experience though. Want to see the blu-ray extended edition as there was obviously so much missing from the film.

Please do...the visuals, production design and framing are topnotch Ridley Scott. Noomi Rapace is an incredible talent and Michael Fassbender kills it with his portrail of the android...a feast for the eyes, but the screenplay and plot just are not up to RS standards. If it would have been any other director this would have been the flop of flops.

Just don't expect the unique experience the original Alien offered...no characters who define themselves with simple, sparse, but brilliant lines...no empathy...no "angst"...no "what the f*ck just happened" moments...no reveals...no blindsiding and plottwists you don't see coming.

What you do get are plenty hommages and nods to SciFi movies of late...and other stuff that will keep the geeks busy (no disrespect intended).
See if you can spot the 3D movie in the 3D movie.

All through the movie I was wondering...this is a rushed job...this could have been...correction....this should have been an experience that would have people leave theaters weak in the knees and shaken for days after...like I experienced the first time I saw Star Wars and Alien...

Anyway...please do go see the movie...enjoy to the fullest...and share your thoughts in this thread.
