Thank you so much for the info everyone. As another data point for anyone else going forward I experimented with both the 4 & 8 taps.
The 8 had more top end energy but base was slightly messy. The 4 tightened up the base nicely but lost a little bit on the top. The 4s also had a GREAT midrange. The 4s sound best overall. These are Sasha 1 and speaker cables are Cardas Clear. I’m going to experiment with different speaker cables to try and get back a tiny bit more of the top end and speed. Any recommendations? AudioQuest and TelluriumQ are on my short list. I’m sort of trying to stay away from Transparent as I feel they can be a little too smooth. But I’ll probably take them also for a test ride. |

Metaphacts,
When you suggest replacing the mid and tweeter resistors, do you mean changing to different value ones. Can you give a brief summary of how different value resisters might affect the sound of the Sasha Series 1? Thank you.

Absolutely not! Replace the resistors with the ones in the kit that are exactly the same values. They likely should be refreshed, especially if they have not been replaced since the speaker was new. |

metaphacts,
Thanks for that information. Can you elaborate on what types of sonic changes occur, over time, if the original resistors are left in place? My Sasha resistors have never been touched.

Regarding the resistors, does anyone know what the default values are? I’m not the original owner of my Sasha1s so wanted to confirm I’m running with the default config.

Dave used to change his regularly. I would suggest that you replace them every couple of years whether you think they need it or not. If you are using resistors that came with your speakers, be sure to rough up/clean the leads before installing them. Good Luck! |
