Just curious as these have been out for a while now, has anyone had an opportunity first-hand to audition the Foundation Series? My primary and initial interest is really in the phono PH9. But I'd be curious about any first-hand observations or comparisons about any of the pieces from the new Foundation Series, please.

Anyone in the DFW area going to the Audio Research / Sonus Faber Evening at Audio Concepts tonight, October 25th? I plan on stopping by, mostly out of curiosity to here this combination and also hear what they have set up in their McIntosh room. Should be interesting.

Event is from 5pm - 8pm, no RSVP necesssary.

I believe the event is actually on Wednesday October 26th. It has been corrected on the website.

Thanks for that! I've only been staring at the October newsletter and didn't bother to look on the web. You just saved me some gas money!

If anyone is able to find out when the ARC Foundation Series DAC9 will ship, I would love to know.

I haven't heard it, but I talked to Dave Gordon about it at RMAF, and if I remember right, he says it's very similar sounding to the Ref phono 3. The only difference is a little bit of refinement. He thinks the PH9 is a better performer than the outgoing Ref phono 2. So it must be special.

The PH9 and the Ref Phono 2 really aren't comparable, because the PH9 doesn't have nearly as much as gain as the Ref Phono.
