Default Futura review in HiFi+

April HiFi+ has the first full review of the Futura done by Alan Sircom. No link and I don't believe I am allowed to post the .pdf copy but here's a quote from the review:

In a way, the best of all possible Sonus
Faber worlds would be a loudspeaker that
combines the small-speaker clarity of the
Guarneri with the grace of the Amati and the
bass energy and dynamics of the Stradivari,
And, while all of these Homage loudspeakers
remain in the catalogue, the Amati Futura is
that best of all possible worlds. lt combines
the benefits of all three, and adds that
uncanny sensuality and passion. This is a
real game-raiser!

I think he likes them.

Dan...sorry about that. Here's a link to the website of Abslute Sounds, a UK dealer. They have a page with reviews of any product they carry. Here is a link to the review page. The Futura review is the first link on that page. You can check out reviews of many other products there as well: Press Room

I may have missed it in the review, but does anyone know what components Alan Sircom typically uses to review speakers? Or how large his listening room may be?

I've written and asked him directly. If he responds, I'll post it here.

They normally don't list Associated equipment and reviewers in Hifi+ sometimes talk about the rest of the equipment in the body of the review and others do not. Alan Sircom usually does not (which I don't get by the way as it is an integral part of the review).

After reading the review, was left with not much real insight into how the speaker sounds, how it sounds compared to the Amati Hommage in particular or any of the other similar price speakers he has heard, how easy/ hard it was to drive, did he use SS or tubes?. It is as if Alan went to the Absolute sounds showroom and had an afternoon listen, which he has done before with SF speakers.

Roy Gregory he ain't.

A speaker of this price and quality deserves a little more IMO.

here is the link. then download the pdf
