esteban........I believe Bill is onto something here. Previously owned will buy you a lot more for your $3K budget than buying new. A MA6600 would make you very happy.

I know, mark your calenders fellows, I'm actually agreeing with BuffaloBill.

Jdandy, I would love to try and get an used McIntosh, believe me. But please see one of my previous posts... Unfortunately, it turns out that none of them have the home-theater "pass-through" input... I double-checked that with the folks at McIntosh...

Don't forget the Wyred 4 Sound ST-500. Fully balanced, stepped ladder volume control, HT Bypass, adjustable phase and balance, 250wpc @ 8ohms, 550 @ 4ohms, it's only flaw is that it's not a beauty queen.

How about finding a dealer demo one of these?

If I am not mistaken, the Wired 4 Sound is a class D amp, right? In which case I am not too sure about it. I have not auditioned one myself, but, besides the new Nad Master Series line-up, I have not read that many great things about class D. I'd rather invest in a more tried-and-true technology for the moment...

Metaphacts, how much is the VTL? Again, I do not think it has a home-theater pass-through input, though. Plus, that thing uses 200 watts in stand-by mode alone!

What do you guys think of Prima Luna? They DO have the HT pass-through option and seem to be very user-friendly. Plus, they look beautiful to my eyes and are relatively small. They are the only tube amps I know that feature auto-bias. But since I do not really have any experience with tubes, and their power ratings are not the most earth-shattering, I'm hesitant. Having said that, I admit I am very curious about them, and always wanted to see what the whole tube "magic" was about. In fact I've seen plenty of demos (online... not in person) where they were driving different Sonus fabers, from the Liutos to the Elipsas... Everybody I spoke with tells me they do have great chemistry together... I know they are in a totally different league compared to the M6i, but what do you guys think?

"Front panel selectable direct amp in / processor loop input"

Retail is somewhere north of $4k hence my demo comment.

One reason you see lots of Prima Luna with Sonus at shows is one of our most enthusiastic US dealers is also the Prima Luna distributor. Kevin's done a fantastic job of showcasing Sonus with Prima Luna over the past few years. Love working with him at shows. Lots of fun and always making good sound.

Toy Tower might just be very special with the integrated. i would try the two together before making that decision though.
