Amati anniversario #500
Been waiting to get past my 10 post mark to be able to post a new thread here...
Glad to share a special pair of Amati anniversario with Sf pals here. Extracted from Sonus faber web site on the symbolic naming background of Amati anniversario: “With Amati anniversario, Sonus faber celebrates the birth of Andrea Amati five hundred years ago, the great Maestro of stringed instrument making from Cremona (1505-1577).” So for the 500th pair, it must be something different right? Indeed it is different from the rest. This particular pair picks better maple slabs for its cabinet, and is finished in high gloss & unstained to boldly shine the beauty of its natural maple wood grain. The drivers and binding posts are just like a standard Amati anniversario, unlike the Palladio version, which has different stone driver phase plugs and silver WBT binding posts. There you have it, the special 500th pair of the Amati anniversario sitting in my system, sounding sweet as ever     ... the right side speaker looks a bit stretched due to wide angle lens
