Giving KT-150s a whirl...

Very interesting tube.
Only have 24 hours on them, so going to wait a while before I really assess their sound.

I had the same experience. I went from the stock Prima Luna EL-34's to Gold Lion KT-88's (sounded great, but seemed to die off and need replacing relatively quickly) to KT-120's back to the Prima Luna-branded EL-34's and now finally to Electro Harmonix 6CA7, which to my ears and in my system provide the best balance between sweetness, musicality and liveliness, with bass that is powerful and dynamic enough for my tastes (I would prefer just a tad more extension and slam, but such is life...). The KT-88's were tighter, slightly more open and dug deeper, but I kept coming back to the lushness of the 6CA7. The much more affordable price doesn't hurt, either.

Jason:

Any further news about the PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium HP, now that you have had more time to listen and it has had more time to break in?

Plus, how are you using the Brio with the PL for background listening? That has me interested as well.

I just listed the Primaluna HP for sale (Actually a brand new sealed unit) as I decided the Krell S300i was a better match with my Sonus Faber Guarneri Evolutions.
The Rega was sold a few months back. Nothing wrong with it, just decided it wasn't worth the headache of unplugging in the main amp and speaker cables every time I wanted to listen to background music. Just decided to stick with one amp in my main listening system. The HP is a great amp and a big step forward for Primaluna in my opinion. In terms of power and transparency it is a huge leap. I love tubes, though the EVOs are a bit tough to drive. Solid state seems to be a better fit overall in my current system.

I'm considering a Primaluna Dialogue HP. While I like my Pass Labs, I'm thinking that most CDs would benefit from an amp that has a bit more "meat on its bones." My DALI Epicons have an 87dB efficiency, and my listening area is about 15' deep and 12' wide. I listen almost exclusively to classical music at moderate volumes, so I assume this amp would adequately drive my speakers.

I took the plunge and bought one (the dealer took my Pass Labs in as a trade). Wow--I love it! This is my first tube amp, and I can't get over how much richer and more life-like everything sounds.

Congrats, and welcome to the PrimaLuna club! Would love to hear your thoughts as the hours accumulate on the DiaLogue HP, specially compared to your experience with the Pass Labs.
