Couperin - La Sultane
Skip Sempé, viola da gamba
Capriccio Stravagante, Skip Sempé

"Performed on Stradivari & Amati violins from the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art", the booklet says.
But without good musicians, these pieces would sound horrible even on these extraordinary instruments.
Luckily, the crew here is excellent!

Bach transcribed for 11-string guitar, including the French Suite No.1 and the Cello Suite No.1. Excellent playing and sound. (24 bit/48k WAV files)

Revisiting this very nice recording. I’m finding it hard to get much listening in with 9 week old puppy in the house, but I console myself knowing it’s short term and worth it.

Here's an excellent new release, with wonderful playing, instrument tone, and soundstage and imaging.

Is the pitch correct? The old Philips is wrong.

Fabio Luisi conducting the Metropolitan Opera with Anna Netrebko singing the lead in Massenet's "Manon". "Live at the Met" is a wonderful radio show. And, Anna is one of my favorites. Her rendition of "Song to the Moon" never gets old.
