Default 6550/6H30 hazardous in PH8/Ref Phono 2?

I know that when power amp tubes die, they sometimes take out hardware at the same time (and sometimes smoke, arc, etc.)

Does anyone know if the use of the 6550 and 6H30 in the power regulation section of the PH8 and Ref Phono 2 SE means they are susceptible to the same possible bad effects?

Does the use of power amp tubes like the 6550 and 6H30 also mean the power regulation section needs to be rebiased when replacing tubes?

2 6h30 tubes in the power supply of my ref cd 7 went bad taking with it a couple of diodes. Unit was playable in balanced mode but sounded funny single ended. I don't believe it is mandatory to rebias the output tubes when you replace a 6550 regulator tube but it would be prudent to check the bias just the same.

Thanks - I'm debating whether I want the hassle or want to just stick with tubes in the signal path like the PH5/PH6.

How long do the power supply tubes typically last?

I know signal path tubes are usually good for 5000 - 10,000 hours, but at least in amp applications tubes like the 6550 are usually only good for about 2500.
