I'm not to familiar with the sound characteristics of each cable maker or their system synergy with MC tube gear but I have been trying to tighten up the bass in the system, if that helps.
I think I know which cable will be most recommended here but I thought I would ask anyway.
Thanks.
Furutech FP-3TS20 chord braided with TechFlex Flexo Conductive terminated with Furutech FI-50 Flux. I use it with MC2301's.

Mypal, have you tried out the Furutech FP-3TS762 or the Alpha 3?

I have all equipment wired with the Furutech FP-3TS762 and Furutech carbon connectors. Good current capacity. Using Hydra 8 v1 atm but looking at the Talos/Triton.

Crion,

No I haven't but I have been told by my dresser & his distributor that the FP-3TS20 performs better than Alpha-3. Alpha-3 is unshielded. I guess you can compensate by braiding with Flexo-Conductive.

Alpha-3 rates to around 20a. The FP-3TS20 is more of a 16amp chord.

The FP-3TS762 is heavier gauge (20a) shielded, but of the lessor OFC copper. It uses more twists of lighter gauge to come up with the rating. It would be interesting to compare.

I would consider the heavier Alpha-3 or FP-3TS762 from conditioner to wall plug but I have gone with FP-3TS20 straight through with 2 x Hydra Talos to balance it out. (I am still waiting delivery for the Hydras, it's about 10 days away.)

The FP-3TS20 is hard enough to snake once braided let alone something that is even thicker. How did you manage with the FP-3TS762? Wider radius generally means longer length.

So far I have been extremely happy with the Furutech performance. Interconnects - Fast, transparent, detailed, guaranteed to carry all of the bass & a great match with the MC2301s! All of their rhodium carbon connectors are beautiful things. I have them all. The builds do rate close to the Shunyata reference products. I hope to do some comparisions down the track. My source will also be doing comparisions as he also carries Shunyata.

I've braided everything from LS to interconnects with Tech-Flex Flexo Conductive. It is 10-15 times the price of normal braid but will give you the quiet you expect. Widely used in the AV industry. You will find that most off the shelf cable/interconnects are only dressed with $2m PET braid that does nothing but protect the cable from abrasion.

About Flexo Conductive

Flexo Conductive (CN) is braided from 0.3mm carbonized Nylon® monofilament yarn. CN is designed to protect sensitive wiring from abrasion while shielding it from high frequency noise. Many successful applications have utilized CN for maintaining clean video signals, interference filtering in pro sound environments and RF filtering on power cables and outputs. CN is also useful in static sensitive environments.

Flexo Conductive utilizes a patented carbonization process which infuses our braided sleeving with a microscopic carbon compound that is virtually indistinguishable from the base material. The result is a strong, long lasting jacket that is ready for the most sensitive applications.

Thanks for the tip about the braid. Maybe i'll try it out.

I just went with the maximum current capacity and less resistance which was the FP-3TS862. But that cable was so damn thick and I think I almost cried trying to wrestle those into the connectors so I only made one and it's as you might have guessed on the Hydra8v1 now.

My distributor/dealer actually holds the Alpha 3 and FP-3TS762 above the FP-3TS20. Says more information and details comes through as well as more effortless presentation. You might want to try one and as you said having that extra braid could work well on the Alpha 3 which is heavier PCOCC. Atleast on your incoming Talos pieces. I think the DC resistance is almost half on the bigger cords.

I look forward to your findings about sonic influence of Talos. Shunyata seems to really tout having a much lower noise floor with a very slight current delivery impact.

Edit: I crumbled in and ordered the Shunyata Hydra Triton. Dealer says 2 weeks...
