It really is a great amplifier. I think you will be very happy with it. Luxman makes a beautiful, high quality product. Retro in styling and extremely well built. I have their turntable and dac and have been very pleased with the performance.

Not sure why their products are not more popular. As Japanese high end audio products tend to be fairly expensive in the U.S. Luxman is a relative bargain when comparing to say, something like Accuphase.

Enjoy the amp!

Very, very impressed by this piece. It's been playing for 16 hours at this point. There's an awesome lucidity and very pure tone to it.
I think the awesome S/N ratio has something to do with it (106db). There are low level details in very familiar recordings I've never heard before.
I'm sure that helps the clarity at low listening levels too. I really wish I would have tried Class A SS amplification sooner.

One thing I missed from my previous ARC Ref 10 preamp and am glad to have is the Mono switch. Makes such a difference on Mono vinyl recordings. Also like the option of switching in the subsonic filter. My Moon 310LP has the option, so I always used it that way. But with the built in Luxman I don't have to use it unless the recording needs it. One less thing in the circuit if it's not needed and it is really easy to see if it is needed because the meter needles let you know. :-)

I'm glad you like it. The more you listen, the better it will become.
Enjoy.

Nice and toasty. Not super hot though. There is one on Audiogon right now in perfect condition for $3200. That is a steal on this unit.
Someone should grab it and run. Best 3K you will ever spend in this hobby. :-)

I am close to ordering a 590 and I am a little worried about heat. I am going to have to rethink my audio rack.

Have you used the headphone out yet?

Very nice! What speakers are you driving?
I have not yet tried the headphone jack. I've got a pair of Sennheisers, but not really a headphone fan.
Bought them for travel use only. It won't really see any headphone use from me.

I would certainly plan to use an amp stand or have it on top shelf of your rack.
It is pretty toasty, but not burn your hand hot.
