6JM6 tubes? Woo… Dennis dove into the weeds with that one! Love how he says that they should last 10-20 years and then says that retubing will be cheap lol. I’m not familiar with the input tube.

Other than the voltage to the screen grid, I wonder how different the design is from a regular kt88 Firebottle?

Looks like the Kleen Sweep amp already sold. At least I can’t see it on eBay. It makes me inordinately happy when obscure, “useless” tubes get used.

It's a volume/gain controil. The amp can be used without an preamp if the source has enough voltage...

And yes, it appears that the Kleen Sweep has already sold. However, if anyone wants one, contact Dennis through ebay email, or contact me here via PM.

Its a Western Electric 396a, a substitute for a 6DJ8...

I finished cutting the phono preamp chassis and took them to the powder coater, they should be ready soon.
The circuit is a dual triode 6SN7 RIAA circuit with 43 db of gain and a low impedance ECC99 tube output buffer.
The power supply is vacuum tube rectification with B+ shunt regulation along with regulated DC filament voltage on all tubes.

Hi straitwire,

nice news with the finished chassis for the Phono Station.

Did Dennis dig deep into his bag of tricks and change the design both technically from the selection of the tube assembly and from the number of chassis?

I think he knows what he's doing and didn't do the design for no reason.

If this is good for the sound quality, it is certainly the right way. In addition, one device is easier to integrate into the system than two, which should also be at a certain distance from each other.

I'm curious...

Hey cgn-dt-n, Dennis has finalized the circuit and the chassis layout.
My personal preamp is still two separate chassis using the same circuit
because this works better with the space I have.

Just ordered one of the new 300B PSE off eBay for delivery in late Jan or early Feb. Very much looking forward to hearing it compared to my Coincident Frankenstein monoblocs driving my horn speakers.

I would hazard a guess that you will be selling the mono blocks after hearing the 300B PSE. We were all blown away by it....
