I only have a ARC Ref 5SE. But my experience has been you get a "Wow", every time you spend twice the money. I don't think this rule has ever failed in my experience. So, my guess is, if you can swing it go for the Ref 10.

Not particularly ARC fanboy, but one cannot buy a 'too good' source, or preamp.
On the other hand, world class speakers like mentioned only perform best with world class amps.. But no matter how much money one throws on gear, it's all about roomacoustics |

I still recommend an audition, as I have had the experience where an allegedly better product… was not, at least not to my ears.
I've had that experience most often with cables, but there have been several speakers and CD players in that category as well. |

My opinion for what it's worth (and many believe it's not worth much) is there is no better ARC combination (assuming your speakers are efficient enough) than a REF10 and REF75.
As I have stated on these threads before, I "upgraded" from REF250s to a REF75. Fantastic amp. Unequivocally, IMHO, the best amp ever made by ARC (assuming your speakers are up to the task). |

Priaptor, that is an intriguing combination. My dealer speaks very highly of the Ref75, and he states it drives the Alexias just fine. Paired with a Ref10 pre... I can appreciate the synergy. I suppose I can always move up to a REF150 if it turns out the 75 doesn't have the juice to fill my room to satisfying levels. I shall give this combo some strong consideration.

The REF10 and REF75 are a very special combo. It should work just fine on either the Alexia or Sasha. Unfortunately I have only heard the REF5SE + REF75 on the Sophias and the REF10+REF250s on the Alexias and really liked the former better than the latter, however, it was not in my listening environment and in my buddy's store so I can't draw any real world conclusions. The REF75 has tremendous headroom, never seems to run out of power and gives a luscious presentation. I don't think you will be wanting for more power with your Wilsons. |
