Depends, Lavon...

You could use this config if you have some room on your shelf to support the Dragonfly while it is in the USB slot on the computer. I did this by slipping come business cards under the Dragonfly until it was supported perfectly level, and the miniplug/IC cable was not pulling down on the Dragonfly. One advantage of your dual adapter plug is that the ICs come off the miniplug at 90 deg to the plug. This means you could lie the cables on the rack shelf on their way to your preamp, rather than risking them hanging off the shelf if they were coming straight out of the miniplug. I noticed that even the thinner cord of my Grado RS60i's could hang off the side of the computer and pull on the Dragonfly a bit while it is in the USB slot. Want to try to avoid this as much as possible.

Update...

Just switched back to the Wadia 121 and there's absolutely no question the Wadia is better...it has a much more complex, layered, textured and refined, dare I say sophisticated? presentation than the Dragonfly presently has. The Dragonfly, at it's current state of burn-in, reminds me of a good $1000 phono cartridge, while the Wadia 121 reminds me of a good $5000 phono cartridge...there's more "there" there.

Getting some ear time right now. It is very good. It's better than my HRT HeadStreamer & AudioEngine D1 for sure. The sound is more musical & alive.

One gripe. The DF doesn't sit flush.

It may have had a bit further to fly but the Dragonfly has landed.

Initial thoughts - great bit of gear, feels valuable.

On the sound front first impressions are sweeeeet and smooth.

The first couple of hours listening have been both happy and promising so can add a very keen +1 to PC and Mike's early thoughts. Have tried it with the Ortofon e-Q7 iem and with AKG 702s and future listening times away from my home system are looking none too horrible atm. Can't expect miracles with this sort of gear but as long as it makes you want to listen to music then that is the ticket.

The Dragonfly seems to have the inherent musicality that leads you into the music rather than away from it.

Initial standouts are the sweet and resolved mids that let very good singers sound very good and at this early stage the extremes are quite nicely extended and balanced. Sabre based dacs can do toe tapping well and there Dragonfly has nice pace, rhythm and timing with bloom, detail and a nice sense of air and decay. Overall a well voiced balance between being fleshy and airy.

Sweetly balanced, smooth, musical and enjoyable are the early nature of the Dragonfly... I suppose what can we really expect for $250, well maybe quite a bit if it keeps this up... another +1 on the lookin/sounding very good front... just early days, keen to hear how things are going for Mike n PC who have had the Dragonfly burning in for some time.

I will have a video comparison of the DragonFly vs. Audioengine D1 vs. HRT HeadStreamer. Stay subscribed.

I got this $2 cable to fix my OCD.

Received mine yesterday:
- Superb build quality.
- Great sound considering nothing gets more portable than this.

11'' MacBookAir + Amarra sw + Dragonfly + Ultrasone ed.8 Limited is my new travelling system.

Outstanding value for money.

REALY, how can anyone that loves music not buy one of these for traveling? This thing costs $250!

At this precise moment I'm in Nigeria, on the airport, waiting for my plane to London, and... being here... i'm listening trough my Ultrasone ed. 8 plugged to the Dragonfly, to this in HD:

Again - for $250 - it's a no brainer.
