400 hours I am better than halfway there.
You'll be pretty much there by 250-300 hours. The Esotar2 drivers seem to take a bit longer. Their breakin is somewhat more painful, with periods where they sound awful.

Enjoy your 110s. They are a great speaker.

Hey Frank,
I stopped in to see Anthony yesterday at HiFi House and he was giving me a hard time about turning you on to Dynaudio speakers. Of course he was just busting my stones. Got him to give me some prices on a Bryston 4B SST amp, which looks like my next big purchase.

Default Bryston

Hi Jack
Anthony is a BB that's for sure but I always get a laugh from those guys.

Funny you mentioned Bryston amp. I was scanning thru Home Theater magazine and there was an ad from Bryston. They were headlong the Bryston SP3 pre-amp/processor. A very nice looking piece of equipment. Also the Bryston 9B-SST amplifier. 5 channel. As soon as I scene the ad I immediately was trying to figure out a way to make another purchase. Bryston of course. I never really looked at Bryston because I really could not afford it. I am thankful that Hi-Fi House turned me on to their demo.
I have been thinking about getting a three channel amp for my mains. B&W 804S speakers. Not to many places make them. At least quality amps. I have not checked out Bryston for 3channel but if they make them Mybe I can pick one up at Hi-Fi house at a good price. its going to be awhile for me to do that. I am spent. New speakers,Stands,Bryston DAC. WOW! I am fortunate.

PS I just bought a new car. Just last night and I pick it up tomorrow. Hyundai Sonata HYBRID Limited.

PS I almost forgot. I also purchase a pair of Morrow Audio interconnects for my 110's
Now you know I am spent. Next year I start all over. Haha.

Good luck if you purchase the amp Jack and let me know what unit you buy.

Thanks Jack,
The 3channel amp from Bryston is good to know. However it will be awhile before I can make a purchase. Unless of course I have the winning numbers to last nights' Powerball? Now that would make my day. Haha!

We had a 2000 Sonata. We were OVERDUE. That thing kept on running. The body work needed a some help but otherwise we never had an issue with the car except routine maintenance. The time had come for her to retire. I just picked up the new car yesterday.

"It's a beaut Jack, It's a beaut!"

Frank and Jack, what are you using for a digital in with your Bryston BDA-1? Are you using the USB at all? Coax or optical s/pdif?

I believe that the USB on the BDA-2 can do 96/192, but not so with the BDA-1.

The reason I'm asking is that I have one (BDA-1) on loan to demo, and I just wondered since you both seem to love the unit. I haven't hooked it up yet.

Thanks in advance.

I have my Rotel RCD-1072 feeding the BDA-1 thru an Audioquest coax s/pdif.
I have my laptop feed the BDA-1 hi-res thru a Halide Design Bridge cable to one on the BNC connections. This way I at least get 96/24.

I'm using bryston bda-2 with USB to a mac miniI, bryston sp3 bryston 6b-sst and 3b-sst connected to. Dynaudio confidence 1st gen and the latest center countour scx speaker. Both brands philosophy is similar, that is to leave the sound as neutral as possible.

Bryston SP3' Bryston 6b-sst, 3b-sst, BDA-2, Dynaudio Confidence C2 (front), Dynaudio SCX (center), Dynaudio Audience (rears), ocos speaker cables, Vertere USB D-FI DD and most Bryston interconnect cables

Frank and Jack, thanks.

I demoed the BDA-1. The USB implementation is not worth it, but the rest is pretty darn good. I could only hook it up to my TV and ATV, so I didn't get a chance to test out my music server. I liked what I heard and am seriously considering a BDA-2 so I can use the USB, as well as the S/PDIF connections.
