Warn me about bottoming out? What amp did you have with yours? Mine don't ever bottom out. I've had them long enough that if it were the problem you claim, it would have happened by now.

As I said, they may bottom out if you push them too hard with an amp that isn't up to the task. You don't need a lot of amp to make them sound nice at moderately loud volume, as long as you don't expect too much from them. That's not a flaw of the speakers. It's how they operate. If you really want to push them hard you need a high current amp that can control them at high volume.

Oh well, guess you had a bad pair. Mine have never bottomed out, and I easily have 1000 hours on them.

My Dynaudio dealer sells a lot of Moon/Dynaudio systems and I've never heard them bottom out there either. My S3.4s are dealer demos and I heard them in the store many times -- before I owned them -- with Moon, T+A, Boulder and I never heard them give any problem. I run mine with a Naim NAP250 and I have really pounded them.

Anyway, I don't think anyone should worry about getting S3.4s. They are not known in general to bottom out as you claim. I think there is something unique about your experience. Could well be a defective pair, problems with the amp, etc. It happens.
