I had a mcintosh 275 connected to my c1's for the better part of a year and while I felt they were ok, I know the c1's could have done better with twice that in my room, ultimately it all depends on your room. Big room get as much tube power as you can, for most mid sized rooms I'd say 150 watts

JUST MY OBSERVATION: With the C4 II's and the Mc1.2KW's(1200w monos) the meters are around 1.2w @ low volume and 12w @ moderate and reach up to 120w @ full volume. Extreme volume could go slightly more but my endurance would be the limiting factor.

I'm running a 100 watt tube amp with C-1's in a room 400 square feet and it's plenty of power.
