I can't say enough about the speakers though. The only ones I've found superior (in my limited search) are the Evidence series (Master) and the uber $$$ Focals (don't recall model, just the WHOA price). IMHO, for under $20k, one would be hard pressed to do better.
Thanks for your reply, Michael.

I worry my room isn't large enough for the C4's lowest bass notes. I'm sure it sounds great in your room.

Did you audition the Wilson Sasha or Andra III prior to your purchase?

Ray:

I have my room heavily bass trapped but rarely get to really open the speakers up (two and a half yr. old and eight month old). When I do, I've found the bass to be, for the most part, under control. I've read at least two reviews saying the C4's bass can be overwhelming but I can't say I totally agree. Obviously, I can't vouch for your room but see if a dealer will give you a shot at an in-home audition - you may be surprised.

Prior to picking the C4s, the speakers in similar price points I listened to were the Sasha's, MAXX2 (used), Focal Scalas and MC's XRT1k. I also listed to many, and actually purchased one pair of, speakers at the $7k-$10k price point. To my ears the C4s were either the best sounding or equal to any of the others. Now, after the fact, I've heard that Wilson's are more difficult to set up and that they are not at their best with MC electronics so YMMV. I may have to play around with my set-up at some point in the future to try another pair of Wilson's (I think they look sexy as hell) but for now, I am really digging they C4s.

Good luck with your search

Thanks for your input, Michael.

I'm trying to choose between the C4, Eggleston Andra III (can't find anywhere to audition), Sasha/Sophia III and the Genesis G5.3 (haven't heard yet).

Hopefully the Newport Beach Audio show will help me decide.

They look absolutly amazing, I bet they sound just as great.

Is there a difference, besides the finish, between the Confidence II series and the Signatures?

Nope, mechanically they are identical. The difference is the finish and the warranty(10 years on the Sig's, 5 years on the MKII's), plus the hand signed back plate on the Sig's.

The Signature series are mkII versions with either high gloss Bordeaux or Mocha wood finish, longer warranty and a signed plate on the back of each speaker indicating signature status.
Otherwise the mkII and signature versions share all of the same internal parts and drivers.
