A pretty obvious DAC option should be Accuphase's DAC-50 card; pretty good value for the money and you get to control all its functions straight from your existing remote. Plus, no extra boxes, you don't need an interconnect cable...

I hear ya, except you can't change the DAC source. Like between optical and usb for example. From the remote control. I have my laptop connected via USb and my TV and cd player via optical. So the topping allows my to switch between those via its remote control.

Personally way down the line I'll probably be looking for an R2R DAC that give me more air in recordings. Some nice options have recently appeared like the ARES II and similar. But it's a bit too new for me to jump aboard when I already have probably the best Delta Sigma DAC there is under a 1000$.

Except you can't switch the source, usb to coax to optical, via remote. I can do that via my topping d90.

Yes, you can use the remote to change the source from usb to coax to optical. Simply press the OP1 button multiple times to toggle through the various digital inputs. I’ve owned three Accuphase integrated amps and both the DAC 40 and DAC 50.

Huh neat. It was such a simple elegant solution I didn't even think of it. Thanks for the clarification.

Confirmed - you can switch between all inputs.

Using a DAC40 and DAC50 in E600 and E650, respectively. Both are excellent, the DAC50 more flexible with DSD capability.

From my experience the DAC50 is on par with several DACs in the 2-4K range.

Agreed. From my experience, the DAC-50 is superior to the DAC-40.

Default Service manuals.

Has anyone had any luck trying to get the service manuals for newer Accuphase products through the distributor?

Or are they not allow to divulge any sorts of repair manuals and technical schematic sheets?

Nada. They would not help with my 25yr tuner. Wanted me to send to them for any work that might be needed.
