Thanks for the review and thoughts on the Esoteric G-01. It is the last major piece to my system and I hope to be adding in the next couple of months. In the last three months I have purchased the Focals 1038Be speakers, Krell 600e mono amps, the Esoteric K-01 and the Esoteric C-02 preamp. The G-01 should round out the system for some time to come. Thanks again

AMorrisJr,

Sounds like you're assembling quite a system there. I'm sure you'll be pleased with the G-01 when you are ready to make that addition to your audio system. Don't forget to post some pictures and share your experiences with the board! Ted.

HI Tom,

Thanks for the compliment. Wireworld Platinum Starlight BNC clock cable. That should be added to my signature - an oversight! I'll PM you! Ted.

hi,

i, too, own the k-01 and previously had the x-01 with the g25u re-clocker. i am overall very happy with the k-01 which was a huge upgrade over the x-01.

i remain partial to outboard clockers notwithstanding the added cost of not not only the clock unit itself but also the cabling. (i have opus mm2 throughout and would not have used anything less for the g-01)

peering inside my k-01 the other day, i identified the stock crystal unit as a 33.8688 Mhz part, made (possibly) by Crystek. (see pic).

I was wondering if anybody has had any luck replacing this part.

mcduman,

Welcome to AA! Sorry, but I've never had the "hood" up on either my K-01 or G-01. But I'm always glad to hear of another happy K-01 owner. Its really remarkable how much flexibility and performance Esoteric packs into one chassis! AS good as the K-01 alone sounds, though, adding the G-01 clock really raises the bar! I can understand why you prefer the outboard clocks! Ted.

Hi Ted,

Just to find out which filter or setting did you prefer, was it a the 22m or 10m and it there a huge difference with the master clock setting at 22m as i understand it is superior sonically to the 10m?

Appreciate your input as i am currently considering a 22m clock.

Thanks

Hello Ted,

I bought the G01 to match up with my K1X, even before I read your exceptional and very personal review! I have to tell you that you are absolutely right on the improve SQ that you can get on the G01! Thank you for putting the time and effort on this review and really appreciate it. BTW, did not know whether can the K01 accept the 10M direct output, it will even improve on going the standard 44.1 route.
