Pampero... Welcome to AA!
Congratulations on the move to Nashville. Nice to have another Tennessean on AA. I've made several trips to HiFi Buys over the years and thoroughly enjoy each visit. Great group of audio enthusiasts there. Looking forward to your posts.

Thank you. It is an adventure. For a well considered reply though you'll need to ask me six months from now. First impressions are that the real attractions of this place are the people. We're very newly relocated (we moved in 2 weeks ago) in East Nash and we've received a hearteningly warm welcome from our neighbors but immediate impressions comparing major amenities to Seattle leaves Nashville at a disadvantage. Still, much remains for us to discover before a thoughtful answer to your question is possible. Among my several hobbies, I'm a motorcyclist so Nashville's central location allows me to explore the south, a region I have little experience in. I think that's a real plus and the BMW/Ducati community has been gracious and welcoming as well. Restaurants, especially ethnic stuff? Not so much! Music? So far Nashville has lived up to its reputation.....much better than Seattle except for the orchestra which at first blush seems not quite as polished but still plenty good enough for us to continue to attend concerts when they are playing stuff we want to hear. We enjoyed Pictures at an Exhibition a few weeks ago and despite a few minor miscues, it sounded great and we'll be back. And of course, great acoustic and pop music is everywhere. If you get here, shoot me a PM and lets get together. I've got time! |

Thanks, tweet. Yes, good store. Same deal: hit me up if you're in the hood! It's going to be a few weeks before I have my system up and rocking, maybe quite a few before I get it really rung out, but I'm looking forward to the process. The journey is the destination and I get to start all over again.

I just saw where the heat index for Nashville is expected to be 103º today. I hope your A/C is working!

I haven't checked this thread for a while but indeed, this burg is quite a bit steamier than I am used to. I was expecting to do more riding than listening this summer. Digging in with music was usually a winter affair in Seattle. Here, you get to burn it up all year round, it seems. Our AC is holding up fine so I just stay here and spin platters. It could be worse!
