Anybody modify cary ss preamp??
I just bought a little know jewel of a preamp for that under $3k class. It is a Cary CPA-1. Basically a SLP 03 with SS bits. Just wondering if there is anyone out there that does SS preamp mods.

I have been listening to my new Cary CPA-1 for over a week now, and am surprised, no shocked, as to how good it is for a sub $2k preamp. Nothing, I mean nothing comes out of my speakers. Just a nice, beautiful floating in air soundstage. Well done Cary

McIntosh and Cary are the two Hi-Fi gear I love and buy. I have a stock SLP-98L. No mods here.

I have to agree with you. Both excellent companies.
