Default Found a Nice Universal Remote

Yesterday I picked up a universal remote MX-450 (Universal Remote Control Model MX-450)

This remote is amazingly easy to program without a computer as it has built in memory for thousands of devices plus it can learn. I set up Macro's very easily with this remote for my whole home theater. When I press power on, my projector, cable tv box, mcintosh MX-120/MC207 all turn on and the lutron light dimmer switch (http://www.universalremote.com/produ....php?model=157) turns the lights off. When I press off, the lights come back on , the projector shuts off, the cable box and Mcintosh equipment all go off. I did not put my blu ray player on this macro as I use it, infrequently. When I do turn the Blu ray player on that macro turns the Mcintosh MX120 to the blu ray setting and Cinema 1. If you lift the battery compartment door off, it takes a usb cable so the firmware can be updated as well as for adding new device codes. Lastly, it comes with 8 pages of icons for favorite stations such as HBO, Starz, Showtime, ABC, NBC etc. etc. which are easy to program for your corresponding channel on the cable box all without needing a computer. It took me about an hour to program; now that I am familliar it would take less time as I had to delete a few macros after I realized I wanted to control lighting too. All and all this is a amazing remote that has both RF and IR, has backlighting, great battery life and can be controlled using one hand. I paid $200 and was prepaired to spend much more for a remote; this blows away my philips TS1000 that I have been using and highly recommend it.

Thanks for sharing. An easily programmable remote control is definitely on my shopping list.
