I agree with that! I have an Eaton on the main panel and that's great if a surge comes down the power line. If you get a direct hit it won't prevent damage unless you have surge device at the outlet, the outlet itself, or right before the outlet.

Interesting....thank you Caelin! It states 50A; do you have this on a limited portion of your total setup of is the 50A breaker misleading, i.e. am I drawing a wrong conclusion?

All surge modules must have an inline circuit breaker in tne event that the module fails or if you need to replace a module it allows you to cut the power to the module. The amp rating does not indicate the current rating for the elecrrical panel. The electrical panel is a 200 A unit.

IIRC Caelin liked the Leviton products and installed model 51120-1 on his home. It sells for around $300 and provides peace of mind & protects for surges.
