Caelin... No worries, as this behavior will not be tolerated here.

Yours is not the first report I've read of hearing the Cobra PC as you described. And you're right about giving them time to acclimate and burn-in. How many hours do they have on them? Are you using them on amps or front-end gear? From my own experience with the Zitron Cobra it won't surprise me to hear about sound described as clearer, more neutral and more articulate but with more harmonic information, all of which I gauge to mean having less distortion. I found the Cobra a real improvement over all but the topmost of the CX series all of which are a bit warmer and comparatively a teeny bit muddier and slower. To my ears warmth is usually a masking of information, but this can be a matter of degree. Whether you find that to your liking is happily your choice. Every system is different. Give 'em another week of steady use or on a dedicated burn-in. |

LOL. Contentiously contentious. Sounds like past performance reviews I have had, but that is just my personality. No need for me to be motivated by vindictive malice. Good post.

When I purchased my first ZCobra I first attached it to my Mac C2300. No real change noticed and I put the ZCobra where I had intended, the Benchmark DAC. Then the Alpha Digital arrived and that went on the DAC and the ZCobra to the disc player. After several weeks of break in by just running my system, I had to see what the ZCobra would be like back on the pre-amp. Good news was that all the ZCobra benefits showed up on the pre-amp and the bad news is I need a second Alpha Digital as I won't give up the benefits to the pre-amp.
So have patience and it will be rewarded, or said otherwise, just let the hand play. If two Cobras don't beat a pair of black mambas the pc rules have really changed. Jeff |

That was my reasoning when I finally jumped for the ZTron Cobras I just can't wait for them to be fully burned in.
