Depends on whether your definition of better means something other than preferable. If something "sounds better" because it is objectively and scientifically better, we should be OK with that statement. If something "sounds better" but is objectively/scientifically inferior, then it is more accurate to describe it as preferred or more appealing. If there is no objective/scientific information, you can say what you want but, of course, we should regard it with skepticism and as a personal opinion.
