I own a pair of these .. driven by a Mark L 400 w amp , Mac C2200 pre with cryo'd Mullards, MIT cables , Weiss dac / ayre transport or apple computer {via firewire } high res files .... lets just say

Been in this hobby for 35 years now .. And many a system ..

What i can say is these are utterly , Fantastic !! speakers ,and i would agree once you hear them in a proper set-up

You wont look back

93dB efficient, 8 ohm nominal. Sounds like a pretty tube friendly speaker. I like the lacquered mahogany veneer cabinet too. I'll have to take a closer look at it, I've always wanted to audition the Tannoy Prestige line.

This is a spectacular review that gives really the will to listen to those.
I love the Prestige series of Tannoy.
I have the smallest ones, the Autograph Mini.
If I was not so in love with my PMC, a big Prestige would be my speaker.

They are great speakers. The Westminsters are a lifelong dream. All one needs is a huge room.

I have the Kensington SE and can not see myself part with these. They are extremely open-sounded, detailed and dynamic. And as PHC1 wrote, they are tube friendly. I have used them for some years with Manley Snapper, but at the moment uses the Neo-Classic 300B SE/PP. SE mode, with only 11 watts, is no problem at all, even on R&N, soul and bass-heavy music. Fills a moderate sized livingroom with music. Great if this tread gets active again :-)

Do you thing the Westminster will be matched well with Audio Research tube amp ?
I like the vintage look and sound of these Tannoy.
