CD $23
Hi Rez. $19.95
MQA. $19.95
DSD. $39.95.

I agree. dead & co sell their downloads via nugs as well with similar pricing, 3 hour shows cost $25 MQA; $45 DSD!!!!!

I would like to try some DSD files but not at that price. Especially not when I can get MQA for $25. My 1st MQA download from Dead & Company sounded fantastic via my 808v6.

I have about a dozen of those dead & co shows in DSD. They sound pretty damn good, but they aren't cheap

Nice electronic phisphan. Your system almost mimic mine from electronics to speakers.

Thanks Gbaby. I love my room, and adding still points to my reference 5s and 28b3s just created a huge improvement. I'm finishing up my acoustical treatments next week. That should really dial it in.

I'm keeping my eye on the new esoteric n-01. I'll move my bdp/bda stack upstairs when that comes out

nice review in the latest Stereophile --> Brinkmann Nyquist DAC, also some very positive remarks regarding MQA.

Hi James

Have a look...

https://www.stereophile.com/content/...t-da-processor

They've really dug in on this MQA thing hard.

Measurements are atrocious for a DAC.

one of the passages in the review

"Listening to MQA files supplied to me for this review or streamed from Tidal HiFi/Master made two things clear: Those who claim they can't hear a difference between CD-resolution files and hi-rez MQA files either haven't bothered to listen, or don't want to admit that their claims of "CD sound is perfect" are just plain wrong.

MQA has been convincingly demonstrated at Consumer Electronics Shows, and most recently at an event sponsored by New York City dealer Innovative Audio, where Wilson Audio Specialties' Peter McGrath, an accomplished recording engineer, played unprocessed hi-rez files of his simply miked orchestral recordings, followed by the time-corrected MQA versions. The differences were profound, and obvious to all attending: The MQA versions had greater image solidity and three-dimensionality, and wider perceived dynamics"

Just a positive note, on all the negative ones in this thread

Your speakers I see were KEF, and mine, the Infinity Composition Preludes P-FR, were designed by KEF engineers. I also own the SP-3, BDP-2, BDA-3 and the 2.5bsst2 and a Krell 5 channels amp. This is why I said your system is similar to mine.
