If it's not for the pride of ownership and worth about $8ooo more than the more capable and poweful SS 1LE to you ($13000 more than the reg Camaro 1LE) - then I say go for it.
I don't really like the look of the Camaros and I've sat in a couple of them and trying to see out is like wearing blinders. I'd rather have a 911 or Cayman or any Porsche really.
The Beemers do look good.

Actually, I've always called it "the POO factor".
I know that it doesn't have a good connotation, but it stands for Pride Of Ownership.
LOL, good point, but pride of ownership has really nothing to do with, after all one can easily have just as much 'pride' in owning a Camaro. The reality is it's all about ones 'tender little ego' !

I've always liked Japanese sports cars for bang for the buck too.

But there's something that companies like BMW and Porsche do that really show how much they understand sports driving.

When you sit in and drive a car like a Porsche Boxster S when the car feels like an extension of your body. The way the car rotates around you. The position where you sit is perfect and everything is just where it should be. The car behaves like it is telepathic.

The other day I stepped back into my Ford Fiesta ST after driving in my wife's 125i M Sport and it was weird how it felt like I was sitting on stilts. And that's not even a proper M car. The ST is a properly fun car to drive too but it was only when I was driving them back to back that I noticed simple little things like that.

Ps is it weird that they tout the M2 as the smallest fun M car and that damn thing is wider and longer than my old Tiguan!!!
I agree. Some cars you "sit on" and other cars you"sit in"

Really, if you are thinking you are buying a performance car, why would you even consider the V6 when you have the LS engine a few ticks below on the option list? The V6 is a wanna be.

I think that's the point - MotorTrend didn't think THIS gen of the V6 was a wanna be anymore.

Finally picked the car up today!

The long wait to get the car built and delivered meant I had plenty of time to go shopping.

First up, the M2 is the first M car without an oil temp gauge!! GASP!!!

So this seemed interesting... the M Performance Alcantara steering wheel - with LED display. It also does lap timers/g forces but not something I expect to be playing. I do like that I can set the rev limiter to 3500rpm when I am running it in.

So then I decided to jazz up the interior a little with an Alcantara hood care of a firm in Finland.

Then I got itchy and decided to order the M Performance exhaust with Carbon Fibre exhaust tips which led to the carbon fibre diffuser and the matching carbon fibre spoiler. And the matching black trim grilles and side emblems.

Will be installing the CF diffuser and M Performance exhaust when I get the shakedown service done.

Very nice!

I've had alcantara steering wheels and interior bits in several cars and really like the extra dimension and feel it adds.

Well done!
