Thank you custodian.
I have had time to enjoy quite a few of the bottles. Many of them with friends witch seems to be the best way as you can discuss you impressions and findings.
When buying the crates I was told to keep them cool but not at fridge temp as this will kill the culture that is active in the bottle.
I have been serving them at 12 C and then you can follow what happens as it warms up and releases new flavors. No matter how "not interested" you are in beer, this seems to enchant everyone who tries it and hears the story behind the beer.

It is a really special beer. It seems to have many layers of flavour like a fine wine. No one flavour dominates. Easily my favourite.

If you go back, pop into the adjacent deVrede cafe next to the abbey. They make home made ice cream with the Westvleteren 12 which is really special.

I'm currently enjoying some Rochefort 12 which is another favourite of mine. Well worth trying!

I really like Canadian beer. Molson Golden is a super value and in Detroit area is easy to find fresh

I just picked up a 50L keg of this today. Brewed by Kloster Andechs at the Andechs Monastery in Bavaria, just outside Munich, Germany.

Malty but well-balanced, this is the epitome of the German dopplebock style. Not cheap but well worth the price of admission. I only love winter for a few reasons.

Probably what keeps me young & the women gasping & in quick conference when I mention to them my age.

It does taste like shit though. But good health comes at a price I guess.

Best Sirs,

Bob

Can't get enough blonde, no-filter LaChouffe. Quite an ordeal to find in my country but I have the Missus running around the supermarkets for those Belgian beauties every month

Lol, it's an acquired taste. I bought a six-pack for thanksgiving. I still have 5 in my beer fridge.

My favorite cheap, crappy beer is Old Milwaukee, but my current favorite all around beer is The Thirsty Dog's Barktoberfest. I'm thinking I should get a keg of it this fall...
