Glenn, you're so right.
My adventure with tubes was immensely pleasurable, but I'm not very tech savvy and tube amplifiers do require some maintenance.
I'm returning to the SS aural pleasures, and looking forward to it.

Hoi Bart,

Bart - have to laugh at myself. After less than a year I could no longer take solid-state and am back to tubes. Sort of like digital versus analog. As much as I try, I just can't stay with digital. Whatever makes you happy

Hi Wim, welcome to AA!

Zanden is utterly fantastic.
But it is quite expensive, and I really like my Hegel gear at the moment.
I still have my Halgorythmes in storage should I desire the sweet sound of tubes again, although they are, just like Zanden, very neutral.

Glenn, having a good laugh is always healthy!
Enjoy your tubes!

Hi Bart,
yes.... Zanden is very expensive. I would like to compare the Nagra Jazz to the Zanden 3000 (already sent an email to The Hague for this). At the moment the switch is not financially feasible but I just have to know if the Zanden is worth living on an apple a day for a year haha. My set is complete Nagra now, with KEF 207/2 and Elrod cabling. I had never heard about the halgorythmes before! How do they compare to Zanden? And where can I find prices? Cheers, Wim

Hope to compare my Nagra Jazz to the Zanden 3000 mk2 just to see, or beter hear, what the difference is. System is now all Nagra / Kef 207/2 / Elrod Master Diamond. Bart, I have never heard of the Halgorythme amps... have you compared them to other tube (pre)amps? Cheers, Wim

Here's the website Wim:

http://www.halgorythme.com/index.html

It's a one man company.
He used to have Jadis, liked them but thought he could do better.
And he did.
Not expensive, because he sells directly, and doesn't really need the money.
I fell in love with them... and now I have Hegel.
That's the way it goes with audiophiles...
