Shindo 301 platter

With the Shindo 301 and the over-sized 15" platter, how does one change the speed adjuster (not to be confused with the speed selector)? Is this simply done by removing the platter, adjusting, reseating the platter (lather, rinse, repeat)? Or, is the adjuster modified in a way that is not apparent?

btw - there is one on the bay atm.

For THAT platter, Shindo does it himself. So it has to be sent back to Shindo each time. Totally inefficient. BTW, that guy got 11 bids for a fake Shindo ad proving that one *can* be successful in the hifi business these days.

So, there is no end-user speed adjustment that can be done? How does one account for line voltage variations?

It's easy on the Shindo turntable. Try a google image search for Shindo Garrard.

Yes, I have seen plenty of pics of the "normal" Shindo 301s. I am asking about the ones with the very large, oversized platter.

I would stay away from that one. Seller has no feedback at all and started the auction with no minimum.

BTW - I have a 301 and a 401, which is why I am interested in the Garrard side of the discussion in understanding this product.

I have also never seen a grey Shindo player system. The all seem to be cream with a grey platter. I even the only one I can find on line with the large platter is cream.

i've seen one platter like that. It was Ken Shindo's table. There might be more, but...maybe not.
